Congratulations to our U16 Boys who are now CHAMPIONS at a live period tournament at the Hoop Group’s Summer Finale.

Third game was quite the game as teams surrounded courtside to view the intensity from both SC Academy & NYC Skills. With a close game the entire second half, Evan Hamilton hit a big three allowing the team to gain momentum and keeping the fight alive. Tie game and a turnover on our end Stephan Fearon kept composure dribble pass three defenders laying a floater to securing the tie again 45- 45 leading us into overtime with a first the 5 points no time.

Sami Uraz securing 2 points as it went back and forth. Our boys played excellent defence. Finding Jaylon Russleburn in the corner as he sinks nothing but net 3 pointer and SCA defeats the NYC Skills. As the crowd rushings the floor to celebrate what seemed like a final worthy game. The passion in the air was one to be apart of.

In the FINALS game

Everyone stepped up individually helping to as shots weren’t sinking. Playing great defence from Caleb Doherty, Ikem Collins with turnaround top notch defence, Evan Hamilton with his playmaking, Samuel Chison with his rebounds, protecting the paint, Stephan Fearon with his speed and precision in shots. Sami Uraz protecting the paint, drawing fouls going to line more than 4 times. Jaylon Russleburn with the playmaking as well. Nathaniel Howell was a consistent key factor on the court throughout the tournament. Hitting a huge three at the end of the game and then knocking down not one but both of his free-throws to conclude the game in a seal deal winning GOLD.

Our 15U team fell short in game three to a tough team but didnt let it stop them as they fought back to try and close the gap that was creeping up on the team. Way to go boys for not giving in and giving it your all.
